May this New Year before you be a joyful one for you and your loved ones!
2020 is portent to be a year of great change. In the true meaning of Sankofa, (reaching back to get it) we take a few moments to reflect on where we have been, where we are now and where we plan to be. We look forward to this era of transformation with you.

In 2019, with your help, we opened our headquarters and interpretive center at 222 Court Street in downtown Portsmouth. Things have not been the same since then! Thank you for sharing this journey with us.
Expanding statewide, over a dozen towns joined us in a community reading of Frederick Douglass' famous speech about the 4th of July. Here's to increasing that number in 2020.
Towns not represented above are Durham, Lebanon, Warner, & Rollinsford.
In our new location we hosted visitors from home and abroad including former presidential candidate and UNH Law graduate, Congressman Tim Ryan.
We successfully added 4 news Black History guided bus tours. Plans are on the way to add Exeter, Concord and Canterbury in 2020.
In addition, in a new partnership with Southern New Hampshire University we moved our flagship program, the Black New England Conference, to Manchester, NH.
